How do I know if my switchboard has enough space and power for an EV charger?
If you have concerns about your switchboard capacity. A simple photo is usually enough for us to determine and explain it to you with a simple and straight forward explanation. No technical jargon designed to confuse you,
Do I need a smart charger?
No, a lot of the time a standard 7kw or 11kw charger works perfectly. Smart chargers are packed with features designed to make your life better, but sometimes simple is best.
Can I charge my Tesla with a non Tesla charger?
Yes, you can. In Australia, all new EVs will come with the same Type 2 socket for AC charging that works in most situations.
Can I charge my non Tesla EV with a Tesla charger?
Yes! Absolutely, as mentioned above. All new EVs come standard with the same Type 2 socket which means a Tesla charger can be a great fit for your EV.
Do I need 3 phase power to charge at home?
No, most home don't have 3 phase power so a single phase 7kw charger is used. Even if your house doesn't have 7kw of power available we can limit the charger from 10 amps all the way to 40 amps to suit your power requirements. We can even upgrade your consumer mains to get a larger supply to your home in either single phase or even 3 phase!
If you are lucky enough to have 3 phase power then you can get a whopping 11kw to your EV! (this is provided that your EVs on board charger is capable of charging at 11kw)
